Pierre Auboiron is a French Historian of Art based in London and Paris.
His PhD dissertation examines the question of light as an emerging medium in Contemporary Art and his post-doctoral research has focused on merging the art historical perspective(s) with his scientific background in visual electrophysiology.
He has published four articles based on his doctoral work in peer-reviewed books, Les lumières de la ville: vers une (ré-)appropriation nocturne de l’espace urbain (2005), Indexed Lights (2007), Towards Urban Oneirism, a new approach to Light in the City (2007) and The use of light as an environmental tracer (2007).
He is currently lecturing the History of Contemporary Art at the Institut de Gestion Sociale in Paris, where he has developed a new Master’s degree in Art, creativity and entrepreneurship – first intake September 2009.
